Zard Mausam is most certainly a family drama and a good break from the more heavy-duty dramas that I see during the week. No doubt, overall the story is of serious nature but what I like about this play is that the narrative may not be fast-paced but every episode has something new to offer. Although the story is moving forward rather slowly but the show never fails to entertain me and always gives me something to look forward to. No loud dialogues, close ups, exaggerated background music or larger-than-life characters, it is a simple story narrated in a very simple manner supported by brilliant acting by all the actors, even the supporting cast is very promising and does not make you feel like they are just filling the gaps. I definitely appreciate this quality of the play because I can name so many good plays with great actors that totally put me off because the supporting cast leaves a lot to be desired.
Like always there was development in the story. We found out that Tahir's grandfather is also Aimen's grandfather. I must say Tahir's observation is great he recognized the necklace immediately and also figured out that the girl he found in his house that day was Aimen. Tahir proposed that his grandfather should tutor Aimen and for that Aimen will have to come to their house. I am waiting to find out how Mehru will react to that. Aimen's spirits today were completely dampened by what happened in the previous episode and she was willing to go by the rules of the house, I must say that even though Aimen was spoiled by her father but the girl definitely has some decency about her and shows that she was brought up well. Retaliating to Mehru's unfairness every now and then is only natural but otherwise she has been very mature about everything till now. Aimen has shown absolutely no interest in Tahir or Affan and is not out looking for a man to come rescue her.
The way Waqar reacted to Babar supporting Aimen today showed how well Mehru has brain-washed him, one can see that in her confidence too, she knows too well that even if Aimen talks to him and tells him what she wants to he will not pay heed to what she has to say. I totally understand Aimen's frustration and anger, her father was all she had and now he won't even listen to her. I am waiting for the time when Babar will truly take a stand for Aimen (if ever) and tell her father everything…but I am quite sure all that is not going to happen anytime soon.
This was another well-directed episode of Zard Mausam, I am totally into the narrative and the well-etched characters. Another thing about this drama that will make you appreciate it is that the acting does not falter for a second. Looking forward to the next episode.
