Nazia Hassan may not be with us anymore but her songs will always be remembered by her fans in Pakistan and across the border. Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan have created a film "Student Of The Year" under the banner of Dharma Productions and they have decided to pay tribute to the great singer Nazia Hassan by adding her song Disco Deewane back from the 1980s to their movie. Disco Deewane was a mega hit of its time and was especially popular among the young generation.
The song is not exactly the same as was sung by Nazia Hassan, a lot of changes have been made in the lyrics and the music but the inspiration comes from Nazia Hassan's song. The song is titled "The Disco Song", it contains a sample from the original Nazia Hassan's version but overall it has a completely different feel, call it a total make over. The song is under license from Saregama India Limited. It is great to see the way they have mentioned and highlighted the original version and given full credits to it and Nazia's voice. The song has been sung by Sunidhi Chauhan but has chunks of Nazia Khan's original song as well.
It is encouraging to see that people across the border appreciate Pakistani talent and give it due credit.
