Angelina Jolie, who is the good will ambassador for the United Nations has turned her attention to Malala Yousufzai and has written an opinion piece in favor of Malala Yusufzai in which she said that this brave 14 year old should be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Hollywood actress wrote an article for "The Daily Beast" in which she said that Malala and her parents have been very brave in these adverse circumstances and also appreciated the way the Pakistani public has supported Malala. She further added that education is the right of every human being and Pakistani girls should not be denied that right. She shared this sad incident with her children and wrote,
“It was difficult for them to comprehend a world where men would try to kill a child whose only crime was the desire that she and others like her be allowed to go to school”, wrote the actress.
She also added,
"As the Nobel Committee meets to determine the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, I imagine brave Malala will be given serious consideration,"
Currently Malala is undergoing treatment in the UK after she was shot in the head, as she was returning from her school in the Mingora town of Swat valley. The doctors are hopeful about Malala's recovery and she is out of danger.
In 2011, Malala became one of the nominees for the International Children's Peace Prize for her brave efforts to defend the basic rights of children in Pakistan, namely the right of girls to education.
It is very pleasing to know that Angelina Jolie is going all out to support Malala and education in Pakistan.
