Humaima Malik's performance in Bol bagged her many awards but it is a very special honor when a Pakistani actress gets nominated for an International award and it is even more so when that particular actress is the only one who is nominated from the country. Pakistani film actress Humaima Malik is on her way to New York to attend the first-ever South Asian Rising Star Film Awards, where she has been nominated in the Best Lead Actress category for her role in the film Bol. Humaima Malik will be competing with actresses like Tanishtha Chatterjee, Parineeta Chopra, Rasika Dugal and Preeti Desai in the Best Lead Actress category at the event which will be held on the 23rd of October in New York.
Humaima Malik has also been recently nominated at the Asia Pacific Screen Award in Best Actress category, for which she would be competing with Indian actress Vidya Balan.
Humaima malik was the main protagonist in the movie Bol. Her emotional performance moved the audience and critics. She was awarded the Lux Style Award for best actress and also won the award for Best Actress at the London Asian Film Festival 2012, beating contenders like Shilpa Shetty, Frieda Pinto and Shabana Azmi. After receiving this award, Humaima Malik while talking to media said,
"I wish to bring back many such awards in the near future. I think the biggest honor for me at the time of the award ceremony was that I was the only Pakistani standing in the BAFTA building in London, amongst so many big and established celebrities".
Humaima's confidence and dedication to her work reflects in her performances. We hope that Humaima wins this award and wish her all the best.
