N Waziristan: 4 killed, several injured in drone attack

AT announces strike in Sindh today

US Senate body approves to cut aid to Pakistan

That is $2.6 billion less than what President Barack Obama requested and $1.2 billion below current spending.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy cited the strained US relations with Pakistan for reducing aid and imposing restrictions on $1 billion in assistance. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The panel also cut $5 million from the $250 million in economic assistance for Egypt. Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said it equaled the amount the US spent to get American non-government workers out earlier this year.<br />&nbsp;</p>


Haroonabad: teacher injures student over absence

Zardari appearance at Chicago was disgrace: Imran

<p>&nbsp;</p><p>Speaking to a press conference Imran Khan said that despite the death of 40,000 Pakistanis and the loss of Rs70 billion in a &ldquo;strangers&rsquo; war&rdquo;, Pakistan&rsquo;s sacrifices were not being given any importance.</p><p><br />&ldquo;This whole war is being done for the sake of dollars,&rdquo; he said.</p><p><br />He asked why the resentment by 48 countries was not kept in mind while discussing the reopening of NATO supply routes in the parliament.</p><p><br />Former ambassador to US Husain Haqqani wrote a book against Pakistan Army and received $100,000 from the American think-tank,&rdquo; Khan alleged.</p><p><br />&ldquo;PTI is not against the army, rather it wants to save it as the army should not have any role in politics.&rdquo;</p><p><br />He said the PTI will announce its agenda regarding the NATO supply routes during a rally in Rawalpindi on May 27. <br />&nbsp;</p>


PM contempt case: Govt to file appeal on Thursday

The poetry of Justice Asif Saeed Khosa would also be criticized from literary point of view.</p><p><br />The sources also said that the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani would consult his legal advisors during a meeting in this regard. <br />&nbsp;</p><p>Gilani was summoned before the Supreme Court on Jan 19 for failing to take steps to re-open money-laundering proceedings against President Asif Ali Zardari. He was indicted for contempt of court on Feb 13.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The civilian-judicial confrontation stems from thousands of cases thrown out in 2007 under an amnesty ordered by former military president Pervez Musharraf, which paved the way for a return to civilian rule.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;Zardari was the decree&rsquo;s most prominent beneficiary. He became the main target of the court when it voided the measure in 2009 and ordered the government to ask Swiss authorities to restart legal action against him.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The cases date back to the 1990s, when Zardari had multiple cases of corruption lodged against him, including accusations of money laundering using Swiss accounts. He says all the cases are false and politically motivated.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Gilani and his advisers have defied the court, citing the president&rsquo;s constitutional immunity as head of state. The prime minister appealed the court&rsquo;s decision to charge him with contempt, but that appeal was dismissed in February.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>


Squash Federation to bear expenses of 4 young players

<p><br />These under-15 players named Mansoor Zaman, Salman Jilani, Ali Karamat and Mehran Javed from Nawan Killy and Barra Gate have been given admission in High-tech Institute in Taxila where they would be taught spoken English along with professional training. </p><p><br />Pakistan Squash Federation&rsquo;s Secretary Wahhab Khan, while briefing the media, said that these players would be provided with every kind of facilities including diet, dress and dwelling. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The federation is committed to meet their requirement in accordance with the rules and regulations, he assured. <br />&nbsp;</p>
