Zeba Bakhtiar Joins MQM
Sep 25th 2012, 14:31

Zeba Bakhtiar has illuminated our television screens with her impressive performances for a very long time now. Zeba Bakhtiar's first performance was in the PTV play Anarkali, a sad love story, which won her critical acclaim in Pakistan’s entertainment world. She has also worked in Bollywood and Lollywood both and is popular in the industry for both her good looks and superb acting. After being separated from her husband Adnan Sami Khan, Zeba Bakhtiar is currently residing in Karachi along with her son Azaan. Zeba Bakhtiar is the daughter of Yahya Bakhtiar, a prominent bureaucrat from Quetta who was also the former Attorney General of Pakistan and was a close confidant of late Prime minister of Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Pakistani film and television actress Zeba Bakhtiar has declared that she is joining Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM). TV artist Khushbakht Shujaat is also associated with MQM and she is currently Member of National Assembly of Pakistan. Zeba's decision to join MQM should prove to be very fruitful for the political party since she is very popular among public.

We wish Zeba Bakhtiar all the best for her future endeavors.

Review: Mere Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley: Episode 14
Sep 25th 2012, 18:08

After watching this latest installment, I must start the review by saying that Alishba Yusef is an extremely talented young lady and she is one of those very few new actors who says more with her eyes and facial expressions than with words. Alishba Yusef most certainly deserves a standing ovation for a performance that leaves the audience spell bound. I could feel Arifa's pain, her lost soul wandering through a pitch dark life, the way she keeps on being reminded of the terrible tragedy that occurred so many years back but is as fresh in her mind as if it happened only yesterday. Surely, giving up entirely is so much easier than pulling yourself up and going on with life. A sensitive and caring father like Ahmed Ali would age a hundred years in a few months if his daughter was scarred as badly as Arifa is. Arifa goes on living her life as if she has no life in her. The terrible incident that made her lose her daughter had an even more profound effect on her.

Junaid has had enough and rightly so too. After eight years or so of trying to make Arifa come back to life, he finally gives up. Like he said, he could bear to lose everything but the loss of his daughter was something that he is not willing to forget and he wholly holds Arifa responsible for it. Arifa's state of mind did not allow her to take care of a little baby and she should not have been given that responsibility. To me it seems like more of the fault of the people around her who expected her to take care of a child she never wanted in her life because she was terrified that her daughter may meet a similar fate like her. To me Arifa not wanting a daughter seemed more like a mother looking out for her child, someone like Arifa would never want any girl (and most of all her own daughter) to go through what she went through.

Shamim always looked out for Junaid till now  but now she expects Junaid to understand that Arifa did not do anything on purpose. Why is it that Shamim is defending Arifa now? The answer is very simple, mothers always feel a greater need to protect their children when the father passes away and Shamim knows now that with Ahmed Ali gone she is the only person who can shield her daughter from doing any further harm to herself. The second reason is that a mother always sides with the child who is in a more vulnerable situation and Shamim feels that Arifa needs her more than Junaid now. Shamim to me is a very fair mother, unlike before when I thought she was being unfair to Arifa, she was only trying to save Junaid from getting hurt. At the same time Junaid's reaction is equally justified, we could all see in the flashbacks that Junaid treasured his little doll and after all he is human and will take some time to get over his loss.

I could go on and on talking about Arifa, Junaid and Shamim because today's episode surely belonged to them. But it is over to Urooj and Aminah now….How I missed the cute full of life Urooj today, the expressions on his face when the "stranger" was helping him sit in the car were that of pure misery and I really could do without seeing that. I really wanted to see Urooj the way we have seen him all along. Aminah, like a dedicated daughter, wife and mother holds the family together and runs the business at the same time. Salaar has entered into Aminah and Urooj's world and I am sure we can all see trouble brewing. He may have a different name but he is surely the same person and by the looks of it, he has not changed a bit, unfortunately.

Alishba Yusef deserves an award for her magnificent performance and Bushra Ansari has done a great job of putting together characters that are very relatable. They move your heart and stir your soul with their sheer presence on your screen. In my opinion today's episode was exceptional and truly made me feel for Arifa and all such girls out there…men like Salaar really should know better. They obviously have no idea what impact their actions can have or maybe they just don't care. I am definitely looking forward to the next episode because the riveting performances are always a treat to watch.

Shaista Wahidi Addresses The On Going Controversies
Sep 25th 2012, 05:06

Finally Shaista Wahidi decided to come out of the closet and address the issue of all the on going rumors about her private life, including the divorce and the affair, in her morning show. Dr. Shaista uploaded the video on her facebook page as well, which shows that she wants to send the message across to everyone. She did not tell her fans exactly what is going on in her private life because she does not think that it is something that she needs to share with her fans. This raises a very important question; do celebrities have the right to lash out on public like this? There is a price that every celebrity must pay for fame and stardom, they get paid triple the amount that any normal worker would and they get fame like no one else does and the price they have to pay for it in return is that they become "public" figures, which means that the public wants to know and have a say about everything that is going on in their life.Dr. Shaista said the rumors are having a negative effect on her personal life, that is very understandable but when she entered the field she should have known that people who are famous do get involved in controversies and people do gossip about them because there is a natural fascination and curiosity attached to these people. But most celebrities want their piece of cake and eat it too. They only want the fame and fortune with no strings attached.

A celebrity must know how to take the good with the bad, she was right in addressing the issue but the way she did it was wrong. She should have requested the people nicely to stop spreading "rumors" about her. If she is really divorced, she should tell the public, there is nothing wrong with that and people have a right to know. Until she confirms her divorce, people will keep on guessing and spreading rumors. It is very natural to be curious about someone who you see on your TV screen everyday.

We wish Dr. Shaista all the best but also wish that she would have addressed the issue in a better way.

She meets a guy in her university who she initially hates but this hatred is later turned into matrimony. When the guy gets to know the family up-close and personal, he acknowledges the struggle of a great mother for teaching values and respect to her children but due to her hard life she thinks that Allah does not love her.
