Review:Aik Nayi Cinderella:Episode 2
Oct 20th 2012, 20:47

One word:Adorable! I just loved today’s episode! It really feels like a fairy-tale and one feels like being completely lost in it. Today, 3 great serials were going to be on-air at the same time. It was surely difficult to decide but I decided to watch Aik Nayi Cinderella first. And I must say I was not disappointed. Every moment had a sense of cuteness in it. It was a delight to watch something so adorable.

I really like Meesha. The way she behaves is exactly what a girl would do in the situation she is in. It must feel really boring and lonely to stay in one place all the time. It’s natural to wish to go outside and see the world. That’s exactly what Meesha wished for and she went for it! She took the risk because of how badly she wanted to see the world. I personally supported her ;) It seems she had the best time ever. But she had to go home before her step-mother and step-sisters returned. That’s where Mayer(Osman Khalid Butt) came in!

The ‘hero’ made his entry today! And throughout the episode, I felt like I was watching Cinderella ;) The way Meesha and Mayer met and the boat ride where it was love at first sight for Mayer, it was so cute! And later on, Meesha lost her earring, I remembered the time in Cinderella when Cinderella lost her glass slipper and the prince found her through that slipper. I have a feeling that earring will help Mayer find Meesha. How? Let’s see :) I am very much looking forward to how he finds out that Meesha is ‘his Cinderella’.

So who exactly is Mayer? He is Meesha’s father’s cousin’s son. In short, Meesha’s cousin, I think. Mayer’s mother Bano(Hina Bayat) was Saifullah’s fiance but he left her to marry Meher. Meher hates Bano when Bano is supposed to hate Meher. I wonder why she is so mean. She should feel for Meesha somewhat. Poor Meesha! Maya Ali did a really good job :) I also like Meesha’s and naani’s relationship. It is so cute! But I have a feeling naani is hiding something. She was too hesitant to tell Meesha who she wants to hide Meesha from. I wonder what the reason is.

Overall, it was an amazing episode! Extremely cute! I was like ‘Awww’ and smiling the whole time. I was a bit excited too for some reason. I can’t wait for the next episode. The writer(Faiza Iftikhar) and the director(Haissam Hussain) have brought an amazing story to us. I wished for it to keep going. There is lots to looks forward to. I am also waiting for Romaan to make his entry soon. Let’s see how this magical fairy-tale will turn out to be ;) I can honestly say right now that I totally love this show so far! Every second is entertaining, and cute! Best of luck to the team :)

Review: Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay: Episode 1
Oct 20th 2012, 20:24

Tanhaiyan is back with a bang after 27 years. I was looking forward to this play more than any other. Tanhaiyan sequel is almost like a dream come true and there are so many expectations attached to it. When Tanhaiyan originally went on air I was very young but those were the times when everyone whether they were 6 or 60 used to watch the 8 pm PTV plays, it was like a family get-together! Yes, the times when dramas used to make families come together….good old days. Nowadays we have too many dramas and too many televisions in one household and very little time. And yes the load shedding doesn't help too, so basically times have changed! At that time I enjoyed Sania and Qabacha's scenes the most, I thought they were hilarious and Sania was too cute for words. Few years back I decided to watch this legendary play again and it was then that I was completely able to understand the depth of the story and the characters.

The promos of TNS and the cast members in particular grabbed my attention. I was reading in the Express Tribune the other day that out of the total 16 cast members of Tanhaiyan six were living and the rest have passed away. All of these cast members except for Shehnaz Sheikh will be part of the sequel along with some great actors like Javed sheikh, Alishba Yousuf, Syra Yousuf, Shehroz Sabzwari and Shehryaar Munawar among others. The play has been written by Haseena Moin and Muhammad Ahmed and directed by Marina Khan. The interesting thing about this play is that it is being aired on PTV home and ARY digital at the same time. Without further ado let's talk about today's episode.

So, did this first episode meet my expectations? The answer most definitely is yes. It was great to see all the original characters on screen once again. All of these actors may have performed numerous roles after Tanhaiyaan but like many other people for me Marina Khan will always be Sania, Asif Raza Mir Zain and Badar Khalil Aani…I am sure all of you know what I mean. The first episode mainly introduced us to the original characters in particular and how they have changed. The person who has changed the most is Faran (Qazi Wajid), he has turned into an introvert and keeps himself occupied with his books as if he is looking for an escape in them. His dream where the judge declares him guilty suggested that he holds himself responsible for something that happened in the past. It maybe this sense of guilt that keeps him from socializing with others and has turned him into a bitter person. Aani (Badar Khalil) is trying very hard to cope with her troubled marriage but still manages to have a good time with Sania (Marina Khan), who is bubbly and vibrant just like she was so many years back. Sania never got married and is working in a youth centre. Zara is living abroad after getting married to Zain (Asif Raza Mir) and has two daughters. The entire episode focused on Zara in particular, maybe because she won't really be part of the play but it seems like the story is going to revolve around Zara's daughters. So indirectly the plays will be about our heroine Zara…I figured that from Zains' dialogue when he says "ab yehi Zara hei".

I thoroughly enjoyed Durdana Butt's character; she definitely made me smile more than once. Overall, this episode gave me a chance to watch my favorite characters on-screen again and I am really glad that the Tanhayain team decided to join hands for this sequel. This first episode left me with a lot of questions and I am looking forward to finding the answers. I must add here that Zara (Shehnaz Sheikh) is going to be sorely missed. Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay is going to be a 13 episode serial, so I am guessing that they will keep it short and sweet.

Gangnam Style get famous in Pakistan

DAILY MOTION Link
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xt56g1_psy-gangnam-style-hd-1080p-official-music-video-hyuna-version_music

The music video shows Psy performing a comical horse-riding dance and appearing in unexpected locations around the Gangnam District, such as an outdoor yoga session and a hot tub. He wears several distinctive suits and black sunglasses with a mindset of "dress classy and dance cheesy".[23] It features a "skewering [of] the Gangnam image" by the "non-Gangnam PSY"; this parody would be recognizable to viewers familiar with Korean culture.[24]
The music video shows Psy dancing at various locations in Gangnam.[25] Although there are more than ten different locations featured, only two of the scenes are actually filmed in the Gangnam district. The sauna scene, elevator scene and bathroom scene were filmedelsewhere in the greater Seoul region.[26] The video was shot over 48 hours in July.[27][28]
In K-pop, it is routine to have cameos by celebrities in a music video, such as in the dance scenes in the elevator and the parking garage.[29] Making appearances in the music video are:
  • 4minute member Hyuna playing Psy's love interest and appearing in the two final dance sequences.[25][28]
  • Big Bang members Daesung and Seungri appear in the video as two old men playing a board game in the park; they are the two men flying in the background after the explosion.[30]
  • Hwang Min-woo, a 5-year-old boy who is seen dancing at the beginning of the video. During an interview with CNN, Psy stated that "the night before the music video shoot, I was watching Korea's Got Talent and saw him dance to Michael Jackson. His moves were ridiculous. So we called him up and asked him to be in the music video, which was shooting the very next day, and he came and it all worked out."[18][28] He has been praised for his eye-catching dance moves that have received a lot of attention from viewers.[31]
  • Comedian/television personality, Korea's Nation emcee Yoo Jae-Suk, in a dance duel with Psy.[25][28]
  • Comedian/television personality, No Hongchul, dancing in an elevator with his trademark pelvis-thrusting, with Psy rapping underneath him.[25][28]
According to The Guardian, Psy has waived his copyright to the music video. Although this has not been officially confirmed, it is likely that Psy has simply refrained from taking legal action against parodies of his video. "Gangnam Style" is therefore a video that is "born to spawn".[32]
