I like happy endings with no loose ends because they are highly gratifying. I was expecting an ending completely different from what I saw today because of some of the "spoilers" in the comments section, therefore, after watching this last episode I was pleasantly surprised and was completely blown away by the accolade-winning performances by Sania Saeed, Ayza Khan and Manzoor Qureshi in particular. Sania Saeed manages to convey the most delicate emotions effortlessly and Ayza Khan truly outdid herself as Aimen.
Today's show had many moving moments to its credit and honestly speaking I am not sure where to start from. Aimen turning to her Naana for support and the way he explains to her how she never even thought once of turning to God was an amazing start to this equally incredible finale. The way the turn of events taught Aimen that her life was about so much more than her own happiness reminded me of the story I read once in my childhood about the oak tree which always considered itself far stronger than the reeds until it was uprooted. Aimen never put in any amount of effort to save her relationships but in the end the lesson she learnt was truly inspiring. The way she learns to "bend" in order to salvage her relationships was awarded in the most apt manner and I gladly forgot all that Aimen had done in the past.
Equally satisfying was the manner in which Naana's unfulfilled wish was realized, he is one person who deserved to be happy in this exact manner. I was anxiously waiting for Waqar's apology and that came in the very end. All the scattered pieces of the jigsaw were beautifully put together in this last episode to make a picture that left me smiling.
Aimen's apology to Mehru and the heart touching scene that followed was one of the many remarkable scenes in today's episode. Mehru also learned her lesson the hard way; if you are unjust to anyone, fate will return the "favor" to you in some way or the other. Sania Saeed was beyond brilliant in this particular scene-much respect.
Overall, this last episode of Zard Mausam had some great lessons to offer. The most important one for me was that a person only truly reflects upon all that he or she has done in his life when he is going through a difficult time. Aimen would have continued living the life she was living had Tahir not betrayed her the way he did. Momo's case was no different too and it contained a big lesson for all those girls who would even think of giving up their family for such reasons.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this play as a whole and it ended at the right time. Rahat Jabeen deserves due credit for penning down a story that was very interesting and very unpredictable. The director Abis Raza may have bored us with some of the never-ending scenes but overall it was a great effort. If Zard Mausam was a fifteen episode play, the story would have moved at a faster pace and we would have enjoyed the show even more. The production values were up-to-the-mark except for the unsatisfactory sound quality which made it very difficult to understand the dialogues at times. All the actors did complete justice to their roles, Mohib Mirza, Faisal Rehman, Sania Saeed, Ayeza Khan, Manzoor Qureshi, Ayesha Khan (senior) Agha Sheraz, Amir Qureshi, Jahan Ara, Rija Ali, Ubaida Ansari, Hassan Ahmed, Yasir Shoro, Maheen Rizvi, Zark Sheikh and all the child stars deserve a standing ovation for a job well done. I truly enjoyed watching and reviewing this show and a very special thanks to all those who read the reviews and shared their views here. It was good fun predicting what was going to happen next and engaging in all the discussions…Thank you all.
