What a horrifying development in what has been a very simple story till now; this was a very intense episode and a great deal happened today. Abdur Rehman killed at the hands of robbers and Urooj struggling to recover from bullet wounds, I really did not see that coming. Everything that happened in today's episode totally took me by surprise and I can't imagine the repercussions it will have for everyone, whether it is Ahmed Ali, Urooj or most of all Zakiya. I must add here that Bushra Ansari's acting was beyond brilliant today, her reaction to everything that happened was spot-on.
So, there is more to Zakiya and Kamran's relationship than it appears on the surface. In the last episode it was great to see Zakiya not getting blackmailed into giving money to Razia for Kamran's bail but it seems like Kamran is going to " go the extra mile" to get what he wants. Zakiya's character has really caught my attention, I can't remember the last time I saw such a balanced character on-screen. She is strong but sensitive and very smart at the same time. I hope she will not fall for Kamran's 'blackmail' and will prove to be the intelligent woman that she has been so far. How well she is going to do with dealing with the 'conspiracies' surrounding the business, is a big question mark.
I have to say that all the characters in this play are very relatable and they are the kind of people you and me are, nothing extraordinary or superhuman about them. Abdur Rehman, even after everything that happened was willing to help out his employee, the gullibility in his character made it easier to relate to. Unfortunately, Abdur Rehman never mentioned any of it to Zakiya so she has absolutely has no clue.
Abdur Rehman and Zakiya had such a strong bond and I am waiting to see how Zakiya will cope without him, there is so much to look forward to after what happened today. One thing I really appreciate about Abdur Rehman and Zakiya is that although they really want that Urooj should Marry Amina but cannot muster up the courage to ask Ahmed, even with all their wealth they realize that money is not everything and they cannot misuse Ahmed Ali's friendship.
All the characters in this play big or small are very well portrayed. The picture quality is excellent and the play definitely has the flow to keep you glued to your TV screens. The only quibble I had today was that it seemed like there were way too many commercials and too little of the drama…or did I just feel that way? The play did not start till 8 15 and 15 minutes later there was an advertisement break again, that of course would mean that the play is doing great but I felt like I watched more commercials today than the actual play. Nevertheless, it made for a very exciting episode.
