Review: Mere Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley: Episode 12
Sep 11th 2012, 18:52

Today's episode belonged to Mohib Mirza, although usually I look forward to Aminah and Urooj scenes more than anything else but this time around I am eagerly waiting to find out how things unfold in Junaid and Arifa's life. Currently I am watching three different plays with Mohib Mirza in them and in the other two he is playing the villain but he proved today that versatility knows no bounds, he was brilliant as the knight in the shining armor and totally bowled me over with his spot on performance. Although I did feel that the marriage was too sudden and Arifa was not yet ready for such a commitment even though the psychiatrist did suggest that it would be a step in the right direction, maybe because she knows Junaid and has faith in him. I honestly felt that Arifa and Junaid were not going to get married but the way it was done was definitely very convincing. While Arifa is trying her best to forget her past, Junaid is the perfect partner helping her in a way I could never have imagined. My favorite scene had to be when Junaid comes back from work and asks Arifa how her day was and the two sit down and have a chat. I do hope that Arifa has a happy ending, honestly speaking now I think Junaid deserves to have his Arifa back. I totally love the OST and more than that the way it is played in the background at the right time. The lyrics are heart touching and it has been sung very beautifully.

It was good to hear Aminah and Zakiya talk about passport and such concerns when Urooj came with the invitation and Zakiya suggested that Aminah should go with him. I have noticed in many plays that people get up and leave for foreign lands as if the passport and visa are always handy. I have a bad feeling that something terrible is going to happen in this trip. I think everyone has had more than their fair share of tragedies and I would really like it if we could see some happy moments for the next two episodes or so, the stress is getting to me! One more thing that I must mention here the ads on the screen kept on blocking the subtitles and I could hardly make out what Urooj said to Aminah in the bedroom scene but nevertheless the chemistry between Sarwat Gillani and Shehryaar Munawar was amazing as usual.

I really appreciate that Arifa is seeing a psychiatrist on regular basis and we are shown the highlights of the meeting but I do wish that there was some other actor playing that character. All the other actors are so extraordinary that one expects a lot from anyone who would be part of this play, no matter how small the role maybe.

I have very high expectations from this play and I am seriously hoping that there are no more tragedies in the next episode at least. I guess because too much has happened in all the past episodes, for a while I would like it if there would be a good change rather than another catastrophe. The performances and the direction was flawless as usual and I am definitely looking forward to the next episode.
